Insurance covering all destinations and activities

We work with Endsleigh Insurance Services Limited to provide you with travel insurance that covers your group’s participation.

Our insurance policy matches the requirements of most LEAs and is designed to cover all activities included in our itineraries, as well as featured optional extras.

Policy cover

Our standard policy includes the cover below.

As with all insurance, it is essential you read the policy before booking in order to understand the level of cover provided – especially regarding any pre-existing medical conditions of anyone on the trip.

We recommend that you email details of the cover to all party members at the time of booking to ensure that they (and if under 18, their parents) are aware of the terms.

A full copy of the insurance policy and statement of insurance document can be found here.

  • Cancellation or curtailment – up to £4,000
  • Emergency medical expenses – up to £5 million
  • Personal accident – up to £10,000
  • Missed departure – up to £1,000 (in the UK £500)
  • Personal baggage – up to £1,500 (under 16s £750)
  • Personal money – up to £500 (under 18s £250)
  • Personal liability – up to £2 million
  • Organiser’s liability – up to £5 million
  • Legal advice and expenses – up to £25,000

Cancelling insurance

Please note that as soon as your full first deposits have been paid and received for every member of the group, your policy will be live. If the cover does not meet your needs, there is a ‘cooling off’ period of 14 days from the date of receipt for first deposits during which you may cancel the insurance in writing to Edwin Doran. Please refer to the policy and the statement of insurance for details regarding cancellation. The policy also contains a Complaints Procedure.

Choosing a different school trip insurance provider

You may decide to make your own insurance arrangements, but please note that adequate and valid travel insurance is compulsory for all Edwin Doran travellers. It is a condition of accepting your booking that you agree to obtain adequate travel insurance by the date of departure. You must ensure that there are no exclusion clauses that limit cover for your tour’s activities.

UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC)

When travelling within the EU, we strongly recommend that all members of your party have a UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC), formerly known as EHIC. Many state hospitals and doctors in the EU accept this. However, it is not a replacement for travel insurance, as it may not cover the cost of all treatment or repatriation to the UK. If you have any questions about insurance, please contact us.

your group travel questions, answered

Yes. We provide travel insurance in partnership with Endsleigh Insurance which offers a policy specifically designed for your tour itinerary.

Should you have any players in your team(s) who have specific needs or conditions, please ensure that the medical and dietary forms are filled in. At Edwin Doran Sports Tours, we are keen no player should miss out on a course with us and most activities can be adapted to suit the needs of the individual. We are more than happy to discuss this further if you wish. However, if we are not advised of a condition, we may not be able to provide suitable accommodation or adapt activities.

A member of our team will be contactable 24/7 via an emergency number which can be found in your final tour pack. See our full list of accreditations to see how we’re committed to providing sports tours that adhere to the highest health and safety standards.

We hope you won’t need to, but should you be required to visit a hospital whilst on tour, make sure you take your insurance details, your passport and a credit card. If the visit is serious, we recommend you speak to your insurance company for further advice and support.

We can advise on mandatory health requirements; however, we are not medical experts. It is your responsibility to ensure that you obtain proper and detailed medical advice at least 2 months prior to travel for the latest health requirements, recommendations for your destination and any costs.
