Day 1-2

The group flew from London Heathrow to Cape Town and kicked off their trip with an awe-inspiring visit to Table Mountain. That night, they settled into their accommodation at The Cape Milner ideally located in the central suburb of Tamboerskloof at the foot of Table Mountain.

Day 3

The next day the students spent time exploring Cape Town’s famous V&A Waterfront, the oldest working harbour in the world and included an educational trip to the Two Oceans Aquarium. In the afternoon, the first round of matches took place, where both the netball and football teams faced off against local South African schools, testing their abilities against new competition.

Day 4-5

This morning featured a visit to the historic Robben Island followed an exhilarating surf lesson added a fun, active element to the itinerary, giving students the chance to relax and try a new watersport.

A deeper cultural experience awaited with a visit to a local church and a traditional lunch in Langa township. The students gained valuable insights into South Africa’s history and culture, followed by their second round of matches, which continued to build their sporting confidence and teamwork.

Day 6-7

Leaving Cape Town behind, the group travelled to the Garden Route Game Lodge, where they enjoyed two unforgettable game drives. The opportunity to witness South Africa’s wildlife up close was a highlight of the tour. The group then moved on to the Goedgedacht Trust, a local charity supporting rural communities, where they began a series of community-focused activities.

Day 8-9

Over two days, Kesteven & Grantham Girls’ School students participated in hands-on activities at the Goedgedacht Trust, including helping with various sustainability projects. They also played their third and fourth rounds of matches, further challenging their sportsmanship and improving their athletic skills while engaging with local teams. These experiences helped the students develop not only as athletes but also as compassionate global citizens.

Day 10-11

The final days of the trip saw the students take on the Cape Canopy Tour, an adventurous zip-lining experience through breathtaking landscapes. Before departing, the group spent their last day watching a couple of Netball World Cup Matches, a perfect conclusion to an unforgettable trip.
