Overview
Now in its 27th year, the Hilversum International Youth Rugby Festival is a celebration of everything we love about rugby. Held every Easter Sunday in the Netherlands, it attracts over 75 teams from across Europe, all uniting for one action-packed day of international competition, festival spirit and cultural exchange.
This isn’t just another fixture, it’s rugby at its most vibrant: competitive on the pitch, with friendships and camaraderie off it.

Fixtures and Tournament Atmosphere
This is one of Europe’s most competitive and diverse youth rugby gatherings. Expect:
- 75+ international teams from multiple countries
- Full-day festival rugby with group stages and finals
- Post-tournament celebration with a DJ, creating a festival feel
Group Size Sweet Spot:
- Ideal group size: Two squads filling a coach (around 30–40 students + staff), keeping travel costs down and ensuring you have the numbers for competitive play
- Minimum numbers: 15-a-side squads
