Sales & Operations Manager - Edinburgh, Scotland
Having spent 5 years at the mercy of my English colleagues in London, I returned to my homeland of Scotland in 2004. In opening our Edinburgh office I continue to manage the African Operations department, but also now look after our Scottish clients in a sales capacity.
My interests include travel (we have to say that don't we!), playing hockey and supporting whoever England are playing at sport….
My favourite sportsmen are any of the following: Maradona, Van Basten, Pearce, Brolin, Southgate, Batty, Neville, Seaman, Ricardo. Think about it ...!
All time favourite sporting moment: Maradona's second goal against England at Mexico '86.
Most satisfying experience working for EDT: Gloating when Scotland beat England at Murrayfield in 2000.
Everybody likes Matt, or 'Bob Junior' as some of his colleagues more politely call him. It is quite difficult not to like him as he is such a genuinely nice man. Bob Rees actually met Matt when he was waiting tables in a St Andrews hotel during university and decided that he had the skills we needed. He emigrated south, got a tan, made his money and went back to his beloved Scotland. Very conscientious and particularly caring. He is a perfectionist taking the same dedicated approach to every tour." Edwin
