JONATHAN HOBBS: Senior Sales Co-ordinator
Senior Sales Co-ordinator - Twickenham
Having spent 5 great years of my youth living in Spain, I suppose I have a natural tendency to enjoy experiencing foreign lands. This has led me to travelling around the world for work and leisure for most of my 24 years so far.
I was schooled in Surrey but my real education started at Bath University where I studied Sport and Exercise Science, enjoying every minute. This included a brief period of studying in Paris but as it coincided with the Rugby World Cup, I didn't see a great deal of the lecture halls.
I worked part-time for a television graphics company for 6 years which has allowed me to travel to a whole host of sporting events including the most recent Olympic and Commonwealth Games. It didn't, however, allow me to indulge in my main passion which, predictably, is rugby. Having decided a change of scene was in order, I have now settled in at EDST and I'm enjoying it.
All time favourite sporting moment: Going to Lansdowne Road to see the mighty Wasps beat Munster in the Heineken Cup.
Most satisfying experience working for EDST: October 07 - trips to Barbados and South Africa in one month, very satisfying!
Edwin's comments: A recent addition to our team, he experienced our product when with his school - City of London Freemen's and that ubiquitous tour manager, the legendary Bill Deighton, on a rugby tour to South Africa. He says he enjoyed it ~ well, he had to! Giving him a job shows how quickly we move when we get the right application. He handed it in one morning and was interviewed the next. Standard for our operation is that each new prospective employee meets his future colleagues before any job is offered ... they liked him too! His previous job was a TV illustrator where he went to the Commonwealth Games. We're sure we had picked a good one.
