On Sunday 18 May, Georgia Doran and other members of Teddington Antlers Ladies RFC put their beautiful ball dresses back on to run the 2008 Race for Life in support of Cancer Research. Cancer Research is a charity close to all Antlers hearts as two of the clubs most loved members, and two very close friends of Georgia’s, have recently been diagnosed with cancer.
The run was held the day after the Teddington RFC Annual Awards Dinner at Twickenham Stadium, a night when the Antlers Ladies certainly had grounds for celebration - they were crowned league champions and have therefore been promoted for the 2008/2009 season! So, on a hot and sunny Sunday morning it was decided that the girls were to run the 5km of Old Deer Park, Richmond, in their recently worn ball dresses to support of their friends and Cancer Research.
The Antlers Ladies just under £2,000 for Cancer Research with Georgia herself raising a whopping £510!
Thank you to all for your support.
