As proud sponsors of the annual London Rugby Master's Dinner, in 2006 we inaugurated the Unsung Hero Award for a rugby master who has unselfishly contributed to the enjoyment of many people through playing and administering the great game of rugby football.

This year's winner was David Maughan, for many years the Master I/C of Rugby for Queen Elizabeth's School in Barnet, who has a very long history with the school, London Division and England Schoolboys. 

"There are a number of top quality rugby men retiring this year like Ron Tennick and Les Barlow, so the choice was particularly difficult.  David's dedication won him through in the end.  I hope he is a long-haul traveller!" quoted Edwin Doran, when presenting him with his travel voucher.
