Boys battle it out to claim plate final

Nineteen students from St Thomas of Canterbury soccer team departed Christchurch on a cold wintry day to arrive 17 hours later into an intense and humid Dubai for the Football International Super Cup. The boys spent the day acclimatising beside the pool before heading out for their desert safari – a definite highlight of the tour. The next three days consisted of some close hard fought matches that resulted in St Thomas’ winning the plate final. From Dubai they departed to continue their tour on to France. Paris was a big cultural and climate shock but a wonderful part of their tour. Playing some incredibly tough opposition they enjoyed famous sights such as the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre before experiencing the Eurostar up to the UK. The UK was also filled with much sightseeing and some tight, well matched fixtures against local schools. The NZ boys thoroughly enjoyed being part of a passionate crowd for Fulham vs Hull and also having a tour through Old Trafford. St Thomas ended their 18 day tour in Glasglow for their long flight home.

Our soccer tour to Dubai, Paris and the UK was incredible. They made the process simple, efficient and stress-free. We are currently planning our next Edwin Doran tour!
