Boston

DESTINATION INFORMATION

Boston is a historic city boasting beautiful architecture, scenic views and lots of squares filled with one-off shops and restaurants. It's compact so walking around is easy, ensuring that you pack in plenty in a short space of time.

For a great bird's eye view of the city, go up the Prudential Tower.  Perhaps the best way to see Boston is to take the Old Town Trolley Tours with running commentary.  These operate a "hop on, hop off" service allowing you to sightsee at your leisure.

The 18th century Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, down in the rejuvenated docks area, has eclectic shops, food stalls and street performers. Just off the delightful Boston Common is picturesque Charles Street, which has authentic brick pavements lined with delightful antique, craft and clothes shops.

Old Fenway Park is the best place in the world to see a ballgame, and the 2.5 mile Freedom Trail lets you trace the country's quest for independence, linking 16 important colonial and revolutionary historical sites.

Most lovely among Boston's neighborhoods is Beacon Hill, bounded by Cambridge and Beacon streets, the Charles River and the Esplanade. Across the Charles River lies Cambridge, Boston's 'Left Bank', which gives it an air of being funkier and spicier than staid old Boston.  Cambridge is a town that, with numerous colleges and universities, is awash in students, assuring a non-stodgy ambiance.

ACCOMMODATION

Our preferred hotel in this area is not actually in the city of Boston but just outside in Cambridge, the city which also houses Harvard University. We believe that by using The Radisson Hotel in Cambridge, we are offering the best combination of excellent accommodation in 205 elegantly appointed bedrooms, two restaurants ~ Sisuteki Japanese Steak House and Dionysos Greek Restaurant ~ an indoor pool with observatory deck, and fitness centre.

Golf, boating and tennis are only minutes away, as are the plentiful shopping opportunities.  Historic Harvard Square is close by, with designer shops and over 100 restaurants.  Or try Boston's trend-setting Newbury Street, a fantastic collection of atmospheric restaurants, as well as a myriad of music, theatre and entertainment options that make the Cambridge/Boston area so exciting.
