DESTINATION INFORMATION

QUEBEC CITY is the provincial capital of Quebec and is a gorgeous old city, deservedly listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. It is also the most European of cities in North America. The old town ~ Vieux Quebec ~ is the only walled city in North America, and is in two parts, Haute Ville and Basse-Ville, which are overflowing with lively cobbled streets, 17th and 18th century stone houses, churches, pretty parks and squares.

The ramparts provide an excellent vantage point of the narrow street and the 17th and 18th century buildings of the old quarter. A maze of bistros, restaurants and art and craft boutiques bring to life in the Place Royale and Petit Champlain quarters both by day and by night. The Grande Allee has lively cafes, bars and trendy nightlife whilst the Vieux-Port de Quebec, has been sympathetically renovated with a marina, restaurants and sheltered walkways. A highlight of Quebec is white water rafting.

MONTREAL was founded over 350 years ago by French settlers. It is now the second largest French speaking city in the world, and the locals maintain a certain amount of unique French character.  The city is renowned for its vibrant nightlife, fashionable cafe society and its 'joie de vivre'.

Montreal is filled with chic shops and fascinating museums. Stroll along the cobbled streets of the Rue Saint Paul, drop by the Place Ville Marie, Place d'Armes and the beautiful Notre Dame Basilica.  The Olympic Games were held in Montreal in 1966. The Underground City also offers 26 kms of climate-controlled walkways linking the shops, hotels, restaurants, cinemas and theatres.  Brilliant shopping is available at the Complexe des Jardins and Le Faubourg Sainte-Catherine. The Boulevard St Denis is Montreal's Latin Quarter ~ housing shops, cafes and bistros.
